Candace Marcotte - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Candace Marcotte will return to her third year teaching 6th grade at Fortis Academy in the fall.  She is passionate about teaching science and language arts and strives to attain high levels of student engagement in her classroom.  Candace loves utilizing inquiry to create opportunities for her students to explore the content in meaningful ways, while drawing connections to their lives outside of school.  Like her students, Candace is enthusiastic about the use of technology in education.  Her interests within Educational Technology are providing assistive technologies for students with special needs, differentiation, and creating motivation in disconnected learners by appealing to different learning styles.  Candace believes in the power of the 21st century learner and is fortunate to have a role in helping them all become 21st century leaders!
