William Marsland - Chicago, Illinois

William Marsland is a music educator in the Chicago Public Schools, teaching K-8 general music at Stone Scholastic Academy, a magnet school in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.  Originally from East Providence, RI, he completed a bachelors degree in Music/Music Education from Providence College, and upon relocation to Chicago, completed a masters degree in Music Theory from Northwestern University.  He holds additional certifications in Kodály and Orff pedagogy.  He is interested in composition and improvisation in the music classroom, especially through the use of technology.  In his free time, he is training to run the Chicago Marathon in October 2011.
